The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy Name,
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord;
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit;
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried;
He descended into hell;
The third day he rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven
And sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit;
The holy catholic church; *
The communion of saints;
The forgiveness of sins;
The resurrection of the body;
And the life everlasting.

Amen.

* Note: "catholic church" here means the entire body of
believers in Christ, not just one particular church.

FEATURED SEGMENT
"Always Try To Set A Good Example For Others"

Exhortation

"Always Try To Set A Good Example For Other People."

A GOOD RULE FOR LIFE . . . "Always Try To Set A Good Example For Other
People."

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot
be hid.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a
candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good
works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Matthew 5:14-16 KJV

You may not realize it, but other people are constantly observing the
things that you say and do. On the job, in traffic, among friends, out
shopping, everywhere you go you present an opportunity for other people to
observe your behaviour. So let yourself become a good example to others,
not a bad example.
The Bible's teaching about setting a good example is stated explicitly in
Titus 2:7-8 . . .

[7] Show yourself in all respects a model of good deeds, and in
your teaching show integrity, gravity,

[8] and sound speech that cannot be censured, so that an opponent
may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say of us.

In Galatians, chapter five, Paul lists seventeen things as "works of the
flesh" and nine things as "fruit of The Spirit. He says that flesh and
Spirit are in conflict. And he urges us to live by The Spirit and not by
the flesh.
Works Of The Flesh Fruit Of The Spirit

1. Adultery 1. Love
2. Fornication (Greek: porneia) 2. Joy
3. Uncleanness 3. Peace
4. Lasciviousness (lewdness) 4. Longsuffering (patience)
5. Idolatry 5. Gentleness (kindness)
6. Witchcraft 6. Goodness (moral correctness)
7. Hatred 7. Faith
8. Variance (discord) 8. Meekness
9. Emulations (jealousies) 9. Temperance (self control)
10. Wrath
11. Strife (rivalries)
12. Seditions (dissentions)
13. Heresies
14. Envyings
15. Murders
16. Drunkenness
17. Revellings (carousing)
" . . . and such . . . "

GALATIANS 5:13-26 (KJV)

13
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use
not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love
serve one another.
14
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this;
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
15
But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye
be not consumed one of another.
16
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not
fulfil the lust of the flesh.
17
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit
against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the
other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
18
But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these;
Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20
Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath,
strife, seditions, heresies,
21
Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like:
of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in
time past, that they which do such things shall not
inherit the kingdom of God.
22
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace,
longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with
the affections and lusts.
25
If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26
Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one
another, envying one another.
May the Lord bless this presentation.

Prayer For You

A Prayer To Banish Anger From The Earth

NOTE: When you read this prayer, try to imagine hearing my voice as I
speak
it to you. In this way, the prayer is reactivated, and it is the same
as if I were actually praying for you at that moment.
(Just like television prayers are reactivated when you watch
them, although the videotape may have been shot years before.)

NOTE: This prayer, today, is written as a collective prayer, for all of us
to pray whenever we are moved to do so. Recently on Family Radio,
I heard a missionary in Peru express his belief that the Lord
restrains Himself from acting in human affairs *unless* we pray
for Him to act. If true, this is a stunning concept, and it would
suggest that we should pray more actively for the Lord to intervene
in human affairs, confident that the Holy Spirit will lead us
to pray in a manner consistent with His will.

"A Prayer To Banish Anger From The Earth"

Perhaps there was a time when man did need
A way to pump adrenalin inside,
To get us ready fast to fight or flee,
From animals or enemies at hand.
And if so, maybe anger had its place.

But now it seems that anger is a curse,
Which causes far more harm than it does good.
For rarely do we need to flee from lions,
But often are we harmed by angry men.
And so we pray that You will hear us now,
And grant this new request that now we make:
Please banish, Lord, all anger from the earth:
Just dry it up, and make it blow away,
And let it nevermore come back to us.
We know that You can do this if You wish,
And now we pray You make it come to pass.
Forgive us if we seem to ask too much,
But we, Your children, need this help from You.
In Jesus' name we pray for this, Amen.

How To Find A Real, Live Church

An online church is better than no church at all; but it is even better
for most Christians to actually belong to a real, live church, with real,
live people. Then, you can have your real church PLUS your online church,
so you gain the benefits of both. You can find a church for yourself by

Benediction

I pray the Lord that He will lead your path
Away from the temptations all around.
I pray that when temptation lingers near,
The Lord will lead you not into its reach.
But if temptation grabs you as you pass,
I pray the Lord that you will struggle free.
In Jesus' holy name I pray, Amen.

Blessings to you in Jesus Christ our Lord.
